My Priorities for Grosse Pointe Public Schools

Building Strong Schools. Strengthening Grosse Pointe.

A Proven Record -

During my first term I have worked to:

* Strengthen the district’s financial position through responsible budgeting and long-term planning.

* Help hire Dr. Andrea Tuttle, whose leadership improved district finances and academic opportunities.

* Support the successful 2024 Sinking Fund and 2025 Bond Program.

* Improve school safety and security.

* Promote transparency, accountability, and responsible governance.

* Listen to parents, staff, students, and taxpayers.

* Keep the focus on students and academic excellence.

Where I stand

Preserve Our Neighborhood Schools

Our neighborhood schools strengthen our community, support property values, and make Grosse Pointe walkable and bikeable.

I will continue supporting investments that keep our schools safe, modern, and at the center of our neighborhoods.

Reopen Trombly Elementary

I support reopening Trombly as an elementary school when enrollment supports it.

Doing so could reduce overcrowding, shorten travel for families, strengthen the neighborhood, and prepare the district for future growth.

Return Fifth Grade to Elementary Schools

I support returning fifth grade to our elementary schools.

Students deserve another year in an elementary learning environment before transitioning to middle school.

Grow Enrollment

Strong enrollment is essential to the future of our district.

We must offer outstanding academics, excellent teachers, strong neighborhood schools, and programs that make Grosse Pointe the first choice for local families.

Academic Excellence

Every decision should begin with one question:

How does this improve student learning?

My priorities include strong literacy and math instruction, high academic expectations, college and career readiness, and opportunities for every student to succeed.

Protect Taxpayer Dollars

The Bond Program and Sinking Fund represent one of the largest investments our community has ever made.

I will provide careful oversight to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly, projects reflect voter priorities, and every dollar delivers value.

Transparency and Accountability

Major decisions should be discussed publicly, supported by facts, and include meaningful community input.

Parents and taxpayers deserve open, honest government.

School of Choice - Keep Our Schools Local

The residents of our community have invested deeply in our public schools through local property taxes, including extra millages for our Bond Program and Sinking Fund. Those investments were made to support our neighborhood schools and for the benefit of families who live in our community.

My commitment to you is to always vote against School of Choice and you should make sure the candidate that earns your vote does the same.

Parents Are Partners

Parents know their children best.

Families deserve respect, honest communication, meaningful opportunities to be heard, and a true partnership with their schools.

Shape the Future of Our Schools

Join our movement for fiscal transparency and student-centered leadership. Your support makes a direct impact on our Grosse Pointe community.
